MIAs of the SS-Lager u Koncentrationslager Dachau

During many years the libiration of the KL Dachau have been a discussion of how many SS-Soldiers was killed during the day of April 29, 1945. The number goes between 30 up to 60-65 soldiers who wnt summerly executed or slaughtered by former inmates. There is several photos published on the blog scrapbook.

Known is that SS-Untersturmführer Hinrich Wicker surrendered the camp under the truce of the white flag. There are several photos of him with a enlisted SS-mann and the represtantive from the Swiss Red Cross. After the day of April 29, 1945 is Wicker officially missed in action, even if the German authorities claims that it´s most evident that he was killed as a Prisoner of War in the camp. By Inmates or US soldiers is still unknown.

I will now publish a lot of pages from the DRK vermisstelisten, the first ones are those who was attached to the camp, I will later publish soldiers who was attached to other units but their last known where is the KL Dachau in march/april 1945. The first batch lists 99 soldiers as Missed in Action, if they all are among those who where killled on April 29, 1945 is not known. The story also tells that the US soldiers removed everything that could identify the SS-Soldiers and buried them in an unknown spot. Later it has been revieled (fairytale or truth?) that they was buried in the appelplats for the SS-Übungslager Dachau.

More and more witness are comming forward, directly after the war the US army declined the investigation of Warcrimes, but today more and more stories from US soldiers are coming through and they all claims that they was doing the process schort with the SS men.

To see the photos bigger just click on them.

Judge by yourself.
